Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

1 cup warm milk 110F

2 teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1/4 cup melted butter

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling:

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup softened butter

For the Cream Cheese Icing:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons butter, softened


1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

12 tablespoons milk to thin as needed

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 510 minutes until foamy.

Add mashed bananas, melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.

Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 68 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and roll out on a floured surface into a large rectangle about 16×12 inches.

Spread softened butter over the dough. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.

Roll the dough tightly from the long side and cut into 12 equal rolls.

Place rolls in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Cover and let rise for 3045 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350F 175C. Bake rolls for 2530 minutes or until golden brown.

While baking, mix icing ingredients until smooth. Spread over warm rolls before serving.
