Cheesy Garlic Shrimp Bread Bowl
Ingredients:
For the Bread Bowl:
1 large round sourdough bread loaf
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
teaspoon dried oregano
teaspoon dried parsley
For the Cheesy Garlic Shrimp Filling:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
teaspoon salt
teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon lemon juice
cup heavy cream
cup shredded mozzarella cheese
cup shredded Parmesan cheese
teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Directions:
Prepare the Bread Bowl: Preheat the oven to 375F 190C. Cut the top off the sourdough loaf and hollow out the center, leaving a thick border.
Garlic Butter Coating: Mix melted butter with minced garlic, oregano, and parsley. Brush inside the bread bowl and bake for 10 minutes until slightly crisp.
Cook the Shrimp: Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Sauté the Shrimp: Add shrimp, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
Make the Creamy Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in heavy cream, stirring in mozzarella and Parmesan until melted and smooth. Add smoked paprika for extra flavor.
Combine: Return shrimp to the skillet, coating them in the cheesy garlic sauce.
Assemble & Bake: Pour the shrimp mixture into the bread bowl. Top with additional mozzarella, then bake for another 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot!
