Honey Garlic Baked Chicken
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
cup honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
tsp salt
tsp black pepper
tsp paprika
tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat
1 tbsp cornstarch 2 tbsp water for thickening sauce
1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
2 tbsp chopped green onions for garnish
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F 190C. Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, vinegar, salt, black pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
Place the chicken in the baking dish and pour the honey garlic sauce over it, ensuring each piece is coated.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, basting the chicken with the sauce halfway through, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165F 75C.
Remove the chicken from the baking dish and set aside. Pour the remaining sauce into a small saucepan.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir it into the sauce. Simmer over medium heat until thickened.
Drizzle the thickened sauce over the baked chicken. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
Serve hot with rice, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
