Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf
Ingredients:
For the Meatloaf:
1 lbs ground beef
cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
cup milk
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
tsp salt
tsp black pepper
For the Filling:
1 tbsp olive oil
green bell pepper, diced
red bell pepper, diced
small onion, diced
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
For the Topping:
cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp fresh parsley for garnish
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375F 190C. Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the Filling:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add diced peppers and onions, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until softened. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Make the Meatloaf Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
Assemble the Meatloaf:
Press half of the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan.
Layer the sautéed peppers and onions on top, followed by 1 cup of shredded provolone cheese.
Cover with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges.
Bake:
Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove from the oven, top with the remaining cup of cheese, and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot!
