Savory Olive Cheese Melts

Ingredients:

1 cup green olives, pitted and chopped

1 cup black olives, pitted and chopped

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup chopped green onions

1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Directions:


Preheat your oven to 375F 190C.

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped green olives, black olives, mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, and chopped green onions. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Hollow out each half of the French bread, creating a bread boat, and save the removed bread for another use.

Spread the olive and cheese mixture evenly inside each bread boat.

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and stir in the garlic powder.

Brush the garlic butter over the top of the olive and cheese mixture in each bread boat.

Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Place the filled bread boats on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted, and the tops are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

Slice the Olive Cheese Melts into individual servings and serve.
