Crispy Chicken & Cheese Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into fillets

1 cup buttermilk

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Oil for frying

For the Cheese Sauce:

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 cup milk warm

1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese

Salt, to taste

Pinch of nutmeg optional

For Assembly:

2 brioche burger buns toasted

2 tbsp mayonnaise

Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish


Instructions:

1 Prepare the Chicken:

1. Marinate chicken fillets in buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for 1 hour.

2. Mix flour and breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.

3. Coat each chicken piece in the flour mixture and shake off excess.

2 Fry the Chicken:

1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

2. Fry chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

3. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

3 Make the Cheese Sauce:

1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

2. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.

3. Gradually whisk in warm milk until smooth and thickened.

4. Add shredded cheese, salt, and nutmeg, stirring until the cheese melts.

4 Assemble the Sandwich:

1. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom of each toasted brioche bun.

2. Layer fried chicken pieces on the bun.

3. Generously drizzle warm cheese sauce over the chicken.

4. Sprinkle parsley for garnish and close the sandwich with the top bun.

5 Serve and Enjoy:
