Korean Spicy Chicken and Potato Tak Toritang: A Hearty and Flavorful Comfort Dish!

Ingredients:

– 500g chicken thighs, bone-in or boneless, cut into chunks

– 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes

– 1/4 cup soy sauce

– 1 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste

– 1 tbsp gochugaru Korean chili flakes

– 1 tbsp honey

– 2 tbsp sesame oil

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tsp ginger, grated

– 1 tbsp rice vinegar


– 1/2 cup water

– 1 tbsp sesame seeds

– 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions:

1 In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the chicken chunks and cook until browned on all sides.

2 Add the garlic and ginger, cooking for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

3 Stir in the soy sauce, gochujang, gochugaru, honey, and rice vinegar, mixing well.

4 Add the potatoes and water, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 30-40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the chicken is cooked through.

5 Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top before serving.

Serve this dish hot with steamed rice for a comforting and spicy meal!
