Easy Decadent Truffles

Ingredients:

1 cup heavy cream8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped1 teaspoon vanilla extract1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder for rolling1/4 cup chopped nuts, sprinkles, or crushed cookies optional for rolling

Instructions:


In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer do not boil.Remove the cream from the heat and pour it over the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for a minute to melt.Stir the mixture until smooth and fully combined. Add vanilla extract and stir to incorporate.Let the chocolate mixture cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.Once chilled, scoop out small amounts of the chocolate mixture and roll them into balls using your hands.Roll the truffles in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, sprinkles, or crushed cookies, as desired.Place the truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate until firm.
