Texas Pecan Fudge Pie
Ingredients:
1 premade deep-dish 9-inch pie crust thawed if frozen
12 oz hot fudge sauce warmed slightly to soften
3 large eggs
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups chopped pecans, divided
2/3 cup mini chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350F 175C. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish if its not already in one. Set aside.
Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the warmed hot fudge sauce, eggs, brown sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and fully combined.
Add Pecans and Chocolate Chips: Fold in 2 cups of the chopped pecans and all the mini chocolate chips, mixing to distribute them evenly in the filling.
Assemble the Pie: Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of chopped pecans over the top for a beautiful, nutty finish.
Bake: Place the pie on the center rack of the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden. The pie will still be slightly soft in the center but will firm up as it cools.
Cool Completely: Allow the pie to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing to ensure clean cuts and a perfectly set filling.
Serve: For an extra indulgent touch, serve slices with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
