Maple-Glazed Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Bites
Ingredients:
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
12 slices of bacon, cut in half
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for a hint of heat
Toothpicks, for securing
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 375F 190C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
Prepare the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
Assemble the Chicken Bites:
Wrap each chicken cube with a half slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick. Place the wrapped chicken pieces on the prepared baking sheet.
Apply the Glaze:
Using a brush, generously coat each bacon-wrapped chicken bite with the maple glaze.
Bake:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the chicken is cooked through. For extra crispiness, you can broil them for an additional 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
Serve:
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm as an appetizer or snack.
