Ingredients
1 cup salted butter, room temperature
1 cups white sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp cotton candy extract
2 cups all-purpose flour spooned and leveled
tsp baking powder
tsp baking soda
tsp salt
3 drops pink food coloring
3 drops blue food coloring
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar using a hand or stand mixer until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and cotton candy extract, beating until fully incorporated.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Step 3: Divide and Color the Dough
Divide the dough into two equal portions.
Add pink food coloring to one portion and blue food coloring to the other, mixing each until the color is evenly distributed.
Step 4: Create the Swirl Effect
Take small pieces of pink and blue dough and gently roll them together to form a marbled ball. Be careful not to overmix, so the colors stay distinct.
Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each.
Step 5: Bake the Cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
