Chef Johns Shrimp Cocktail
Ingredients:
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 lemon, sliced
2 garlic cloves, smashed
1 bay leaf
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tbsp prepared horseradish
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp hot sauce optional
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
1 In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add lemon slices, garlic, bay leaf, and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes.
2 Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until pink and opaque. Drain and cool in an ice bath.
3 In a small bowl, mix ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce to make the cocktail sauce.
4 Serve the chilled shrimp with the sauce and enjoy!
