Rustic No-Knead Rosemary Garlic Bread
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped add more for enhanced flavor
1 teaspoons kosher salt
teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
teaspoon instant yeast
1 cups room-temperature water
2 tablespoons cornmeal for dusting
Directions:
Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, kosher salt, black pepper, and yeast.
Add Water: Pour in the water and mix with a wooden spoon or your hand until the dough is wet and sticky. This should only take about 30 seconds.
First Rise: Cover the bowl securely with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature. Allow the dough to rest and rise for 18 to 24 hours until bubbles form on the surface.
Prepare the Skillet: Lightly oil or apply nonstick spray to a 10-inch cast iron skillet. Dust the skillet with cornmeal to prevent sticking.
Shape the Dough: Lightly flour a surface and gently shape the dough into a round form. Place the dough into the prepared skillet.
Second Rise: Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise at room temperature until doubled in size, about 2 hours. The dough is ready when a gentle poke doesnt spring back.
Bake: Preheat the oven to 450F. Bake the bread in the preheated oven until golden brown, approximately 30-40 minutes.
Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy the warm, fragrant rosemary garlic bread!
