Peppermint Bark Brownies
Ingredients:
1 box brownie mix plus ingredients listed on the box for preparation
1 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes
Directions:
Preheat and Prepare Pan:
Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the brownie mix box. Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare and Bake Brownies:
Prepare the brownie batter as directed on the box, then pour it into the prepared baking dish. Bake as instructed, and allow the brownies to cool completely.
Make Peppermint Bark Topping:
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
Stir in the peppermint extract, then pour the melted chocolate over the cooled brownies. Spread evenly to create a thin layer.
Add Crushed Peppermint:
While the white chocolate layer is still warm, sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies evenly over the top.
Chill and Slice:
Refrigerate the brownies for about 30 minutes, or until the peppermint bark layer is set. Slice into squares for a festive holiday treat.
