Old-Fashioned Chicken Sausage Gravy

A rich and comforting sausage gravy made with chicken sausageperfect to pour over biscuits!

Ingredients:

1 lb chicken sausage cooked and crumbled

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 cups milk or dairy-free alternative

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp black pepper


Salt to taste

2 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions:

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cooked chicken sausage and sauté until browned.

Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir well, cooking for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.

Slowly whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and continue to stir until the gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to taste.

Serve the gravy warm over biscuits or any other favorite breakfast dish.
