Homemade Churros with Cinnamon Sugar

Ingredients

1 cup water

2 tablespoons white sugar

teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons vegetable oil


1 cup all-purpose flour

2 quarts vegetable oil for frying

cup white sugar for coating

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons of oil. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.

Stir in flour until the mixture forms a smooth ball.

Heat oil for frying in a deep pan to 375F 190C.

Spoon the dough into a piping bag with a large star tip. Pipe 4-inch strips of dough into the hot oil.

Fry churros until golden, about 2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Combine cup sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture before serving.
