Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken
A crispy, garlicky twist on the classic fried chicken, perfect for your next meal!
Ingredients:
4 bone-in chicken breasts or thighs
2 cups buttermilk or milk
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tsp baking powder
3-4 cloves garlic minced
1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley optional, for garnish
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add chicken pieces and let them marinate in the mixture for at least 30 minutes up to 2 hours in the fridge.
In a shallow dish, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Coat each piece of chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing down lightly to coat well.
Fry the chicken in hot oil for about 7-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through internal temperature should reach 165F/74C. Remove and drain on paper towels.
In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic. Pour the garlic butter over the fried chicken and garnish with fresh parsley.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes, vegetables, or your favorite side dishes.
