Classic Cherry Delight

Treat yourself to a luscious, no-bake dessert thats as refreshing as a summer day! This Classic Cherry Delight combines creamy filling with a crunchy base, topped with sweet cherry goodness.

Ingredients:

– cup 115g unsalted butter, melted

– 1 cup 240ml heavy whipping cream or 8 oz whipped topping

– 1 can 21 oz / 595g cherry pie filling

– 2 cups 200g graham cracker crumbs

– 8 oz 225g cream cheese, softened

– cup 50g granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 cup 120g powdered sugar

Instructions:

1. Prepare the crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until all ingredients are well blended. Press this mixture evenly and firmly into the bottom of a 9×9-inch or similar dish. Once pressed, refrigerate the crust for at least 30 minutes to allow it to set.

2. Make the cream cheese filling: In another mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it is smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract while continuing to beat until fully incorporated. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold this whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture to create a light and fluffy filling. If you are using whipped topping, skip this step.

3. Assemble the dessert: Once the crust is set, evenly spread the cream cheese filling over the chilled crust, smoothing it out for an even layer.

4. Add the cherry topping: Carefully spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly to cover all the delicious filling.

5. Chill: Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight if time allows. This will enhance the flavors and texture of your dessert.
