Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cookies

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

1/2 cup butter 1 stick, room temperature

4 oz cream cheese 1/2 block, room temperature

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 large egg

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

Directions:

Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and cream cheese until light and smooth.

Add Powdered Sugar, Egg, and Vanilla: Mix in the powdered sugar until fully combined. Then add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until the mixture is smooth.

Combine the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Chill the Dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to firm up.

Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet: Preheat the oven to 375F 190C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the Cinnamon-Sugar Coating: In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together.

Form the Cookies: Scoop and roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated.

Bake: Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.

Cool and Serve: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy these soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookies with a warm drink!
