– 1/4 cup heavy cream

– 1 cup chopped pecans

– 1/4 cup bourbon or dark rum optional

– 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened

– 4 cups powdered sugar

– 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1/4 cup milk

– 2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350F. Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.

2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

3. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until well combined.
