Follow the instructions on the cake mix box or use your preferred homemade recipe to bake the chocolate cake. Once cooled, crumble the cake into small pieces and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Cheesecake Filling
In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
Step 3: Assemble the Cups
Begin by placing a layer of crumbled chocolate cake at the bottom of your serving cups. Add a layer of cheesecake filling using a spoon or piping bag. Drizzle caramel sauce over the cheesecake layer.
Step 4: Repeat and Finish
Continue layering: chocolate cake, cheesecake filling, and caramel sauce until the cups are filled. Finish by topping with whipped cream, crumbled chocolate cake or chocolate shavings, and an additional drizzle of caramel sauce.
