Beer Batter Fish Fillets
Ingredients:
4 white fish fillets such as cod or haddock
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup cold beer preferably lager or ale
1 tsp lemon juice
Vegetable oil, for frying
Fresh lemon wedges for serving
Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
1 In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cold beer and lemon juice until the batter is smooth.
2 Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350F 175C.
3 Dip the fish fillets into the beer batter, coating them evenly.
4 Carefully lower the battered fillets into the hot oil and fry for 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
5 Remove the fish fillets from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.
6 Serve the beer-battered fish fillets with lemon wedges and garnish with fresh parsley.
