Bananas Foster
Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas, sliced
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup dark rum
1/4 cup banana liqueur optional
1 tsp vanilla extract
Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions:
1 In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
2 Add the sliced bananas to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes, allowing them to soften and caramelize slightly.
3 Carefully pour in the rum and banana liqueur if using. Let the mixture bubble for a minute or two.
4 Carefully ignite the rum with a long lighter to flambé, and let the flames subside this step is optional but adds flair!.
5 Stir in the vanilla extract, then serve the banana mixture immediately over a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
