Back-of-the-Box Hersheys Chocolate Cake
A timeless chocolate cake recipe straight from the Hersheys kitchen!
Ingredients:
2 cups granulated sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Hersheys cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans or a 9×13-inch pan.
In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is thin.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes for round pans or 35-40 minutes for a rectangular pan, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting or enjoy as is!
