Applesauce Cake
A moist and flavorful cake with the perfect hint of apple!
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or raisins optional
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour a 9×9-inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
In a large bowl, combine the applesauce, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Fold in the walnuts or raisins, if using.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool before serving, and enjoy the comforting apple flavor!
