Dans Favorite Chicken Sandwich
A delicious and crispy chicken sandwich packed with flavor and the perfect crunch!
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
2 tsp dried oregano
Vegetable oil for frying
4 hamburger buns
Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for topping
Mayonnaise or your favorite sauce
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts and marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
In a shallow dish, mix the flour, breadcrumbs, and dried oregano.
Remove each chicken breast from the marinade and dredge it in the flour mixture, coating both sides well.
Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
Toast the hamburger buns lightly and spread mayonnaise or your favorite sauce on the bottom of each bun.
Assemble the sandwich by placing a piece of fried chicken on the bottom bun, then topping with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and the top bun.
Serve hot with fries or a side salad.
