The Bacon Lasagna Burger

Ingredients:

For the Burger Patties:

1 lb ground beef 80/20 blend

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

For the Bacon & Cheese Layers:

8 slices crispy bacon

4 slices mozzarella cheese

4 slices provolone cheese

For the Ricotta Mixture:

1/2 cup ricotta cheese

1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

1 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp salt

For the Marinara Sauce:

1/2 cup marinara sauce

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional

For the Assembly:

4 brioche or hamburger buns


2 tbsp butter for toasting the buns

Directions:

Prepare the Ricotta Mixture:

In a small bowl, mix ricotta cheese, chopped basil, Parmesan, garlic powder, and salt. Set aside.

Cook the Bacon:

Fry bacon until crispy, then set aside on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

Make the Patties:

In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce.

Form into 4 large, even patties.

Cook on a grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.

Melt the Cheese:

In the last minute of cooking, place one slice of mozzarella and one slice of provolone on each patty, then cover the pan to allow the cheese to melt.

Toast the Buns:

Spread butter on each side of the buns and toast in a pan until golden brown.

Assemble the Burgers:

Spread a spoonful of the ricotta mixture on the bottom bun.

Place the cheesy burger patty on top.

Add two slices of crispy bacon.

Spoon a generous amount of warm marinara sauce over the bacon.

Top with the toasted brioche bun and serve immediately.
