Jalapeño Cheesesteaks
Ingredients:
For the Cheesesteak Filling:
1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
2 jalapeños, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
For the Cheese Sauce:
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp garlic powder
For the Assembly:
4 hoagie rolls, toasted
1 tbsp butter for toasting rolls
Directions:
Prepare the Steak & Veggies:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking until softened about 3 minutes.
Stir in jalapeños and garlic, cooking for another 2 minutes.
Push vegetables to the side of the pan, then add the thinly sliced ribeye.
Season with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Sear for 2-3 minutes until browned, then mix everything together.
Make the Cheese Sauce:
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine heavy cream, cheddar, pepper jack, and garlic powder.
Stir constantly until the cheese is melted and smooth.
Assemble the Cheesesteaks:
Toast hoagie rolls with butter in a pan until golden.
Fill each roll with a generous portion of the steak and jalapeño mixture.
Drizzle with warm cheese sauce and serve immediately.
