Perfectly Seared Steak Topped with Rich and Creamy Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 ribeye or New York strip steaks about 1 lb
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp unsalted butter
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Garlic Cream Sauce:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Dijon mustard
tsp Italian seasoning
tsp black pepper
Salt to taste
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Directions:
Prepare the Steak: Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Sear the Steaks: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest.
Make the Garlic Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Add Parmesan cheese, Dijon mustard, Italian seasoning, and black pepper. Stir and simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning with salt if needed.
Serve: Slice the rested steaks and drizzle with the creamy garlic sauce. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.
