Homemade Burger or Hot Dog Buns

Why settle for store-bought when you can bake your own soft, fluffy buns at home? 籠 These Homemade Burger or Hot Dog Buns are easy to make and will take your cookout to the next level!

Ingredients:

4 cups all-purpose flour

2 tbsp sugar

蓼 1 tsp salt

籠 1 tbsp active dry yeast

拏 1 cup warm milk

讀 1 egg

杻 3 tbsp butter, softened

For Topping:

讀 1 egg for egg wash


Sesame seeds optional

Instructions:

1 In a bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let sit for 5-10 mins until frothy.

2 In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture, egg, and butter. Knead until smooth and elastic about 8-10 mins.

3 Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

4 Punch down dough and divide into 8 equal pieces for burger buns or 12 pieces for hot dog buns. Shape into balls or logs.

5 Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let rise for 30 mins.

6 Preheat oven to 375F 190C. Brush buns with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.

7 Bake for 15-18 mins until golden brown.
