Surf and Turf with Cajun Cream Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Surf and Turf:
2 ribeye steaks or your favorite cut of steak
12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Cajun Cream Sauce:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Cajun seasoning adjust to taste
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 cup heavy cream
cup chicken broth
cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
Prepare the Steak: Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let them rest.
Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they are pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside with the steaks.
Make the Cajun Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 5-7 minutes, until it thickens. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble: Return the steaks and shrimp to the skillet, spooning the Cajun cream sauce over the top. Let everything simmer together for an additional 2-3 minutes to warm through.
Serve: Plate the steaks and shrimp, and drizzle with the Cajun cream sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
