Steak in Creamy Cajun Shrimp Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 ribeye steaks or filet mignon, New York strip
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
teaspoon black pepper
teaspoon smoked paprika
teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon butter
For the Cajun Shrimp Sauce:
1 tablespoon butter
lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
cup chicken broth
cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
teaspoon smoked paprika
teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Directions:
Prepare the Steak:
Pat steaks dry with a paper towel. Rub with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
Heat a skillet over high heat and add butter. Once melted, sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
Remove from skillet and let rest while preparing the sauce.
Make the Creamy Cajun Shrimp Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add shrimp and Cajun seasoning. Cook for 2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth, scraping the skillet to deglaze.
Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Return shrimp to the pan, stirring to coat in the creamy sauce.
Assemble and Serve:
Plate the steak and generously spoon the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce over the top.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
