Chef Johns American Goulash
A hearty and comforting one-pot meal thats perfect for family dinners!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 onion chopped
3 cloves garlic minced
2 cups elbow macaroni uncooked
1 can 14 oz diced tomatoes with juice
1 can 15 oz tomato sauce
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional, for topping
Instructions:
In a large skillet or pot over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, oregano, and basil. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Add the elbow macaroni and stir to combine. Cover and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the sauce is thickened.
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
Serve hot and garnish with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
