Tiramisu Cake

A luxurious dessert inspired by the classic Italian favorite!

Ingredients:

1 box white or vanilla cake mix plus ingredients needed to prepare it

1 cup freshly brewed coffee cooled

1/4 cup coffee liqueur e.g., Kahlúa

1 cup mascarpone cheese

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract


Unsweetened cocoa powder or grated chocolate for dusting

Instructions:

Prepare the cake mix as directed and bake in two 9-inch round pans. Let the cakes cool completely.

Combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur in a small bowl.

In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Fold in the mascarpone cheese gently until smooth.

Place the first cake layer on a serving plate. Brush generously with the coffee mixture. Spread a layer of the mascarpone cream over the top.

Add the second cake layer, brush with more coffee mixture, and frost the entire cake with the remaining cream.

Dust the top with cocoa powder or sprinkle with grated chocolate.

Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
