Tiramisu

A classic Italian dessert with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee cooled

1/4 cup coffee liqueur e.g., Kahlúa

1 package 7 oz ladyfingers

8 oz mascarpone cheese softened

1 1/2 cups heavy cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting


Dark chocolate shavings or grated chocolate optional

Instructions:

In a shallow bowl, mix the coffee with the coffee liqueur.

Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the coffee mixture dont soak them, then arrange them in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish or trifle bowl.

In a mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until stiff peaks form.

Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.

Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone cream.

Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings, if desired.
