Dark Chocolate Brownies
These rich, gooey brownies are a chocolate lovers dream, loaded with dark chocolate and a hint of espresso to enhance the depth of flavor.
Ingredients
Yields: 16 brownies
cup melted butter
1 cup dark chocolate chips for melting
2 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp dark cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
Pinch espresso powder optional
cup dark chocolate chips to fold into batter
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal.
Melt Butter and Chocolate:
In a bowl, combine the melted butter and 1 cup of dark chocolate chips. Stir until smooth and creamy. If needed, microwave for 10-15 seconds to help melt the chocolate fully. Set aside.
Whisk Eggs and Sugar:
In a separate mixing bowl, add the eggs and sugar. Whisk vigorously for 2-3 minutes until the mixture becomes light and frothy.
Combine Wet Ingredients:
Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg-sugar mixture and stir until well combined.
Add Dry Ingredients:
Mix in the dark cocoa powder, vanilla extract, flour, and espresso powder if using. Stir just until everything is combined. Fold in the additional cup of dark chocolate chips for extra gooeyness.
Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it into an even layer. Bake for 25-28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
Cool and Serve:
Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan before slicing into 16 squares.
Enjoy these deliciously fudgy brownies, perfect with a glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
