Would You Eat No-Oven Stovetop Bread?

Ingredients:

– 1 packet 2 1/4 teaspoons of active dry yeast

– 3 cups of all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon of salt

– 1 cup of warm water about 110F or 43C

– 1 tablespoon of sugar

– 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Instructions:

1. Start by activating the yeast. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

2. In a separate large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and salt.

3. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, pour it into the flour mixture. Add the olive oil and mix everything together until a dough begins to form.

4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

5. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.

6. After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into smaller balls about 6-8 depending on the size you want.

7. Flatten each ball into round discs.

8. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place one disc of dough in the skillet once its hot. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

9. Repeat with the remaining dough, adding a little bit of oil in the skillet if necessary.

10. Serve warm, and enjoy your delicious no-oven stovetop bread with your favorite dips or spreads!
