Classic Cherry Delight
Ingredients:
For the Crust:
7 tablespoons unsalted butter 杻
1 cups graham cracker crumbs about 9 whole crackers
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
For the Filling:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened 燎
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 container Cool Whip, 8 ounces
1 can cherry pie filling, 21 ounces
Instructions:
Prepare the Crust:
Melt the butter in a medium bowl, microwaving for 30 seconds or until fully melted. 杻
Stir in the graham cracker crumbs and sugar until well combined.
Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a sprayed 8 x 8 baking dish. Set aside.
Prepare the Filling:
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and free of lumps. 燎
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and mix well.
Fold in the Cool Whip until fully combined, but be careful not to overmix.
Spread the filling evenly over the graham cracker crust using a spoon or offset spatula.
Spoon the cherry pie filling over the top and spread it evenly.
Chill:
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving; overnight is even better.
Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
