Ultimate Chocolate Drip Cake
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
For the Frosting:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
1 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Drip:
1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup heavy cream
For Decoration:
Fresh strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries
Mini chocolate cups or truffles
Chopped nuts walnuts or pecans
Chocolate chunks
Instructions:
1. Make the Cake:
Preheat the oven to 175C 350F and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
Mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
Add milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
Stir in boiling water batter will be thin. Divide between pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
Let the cakes cool completely.
2. Prepare the Frosting:
Beat butter until fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder.
Mix in heavy cream and vanilla until smooth.
3. Assemble the Cake:
Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread frosting evenly on top.
Add the second layer and frost the entire cake.
4. Add the Chocolate Drip:
Heat heavy cream until warm, then pour over chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth.
Let the ganache cool slightly, then drizzle over the edges of the cake.
5. Decorate:
Arrange berries, mini chocolate cups, nuts, and chocolate chunks on top and around the base.
Tip: Refrigerate the cake for 30 minutes to set the ganache before serving this stunning centerpiece!
