2 cups elbow macaroni
500g ground beef
1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup mozzarella cheese
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the Pasta:
Boil the elbow macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Cook the Ground Beef:
In a skillet, cook the ground beef with chopped onion until browned. Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
3. Make the Cheese Sauce:
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually add milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens.
Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese and mix until melted. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
4. Assemble the Dish:
In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked macaroni, ground beef mixture, and cheese sauce. Mix well.
Transfer to a baking dish and top with remaining cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese.
5. Bake:
Preheat your oven to 200C 400F and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
6. Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
