杻 Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup buttermilk

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Butter Sauce:

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup unsalted butter

3 tablespoons water

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 325F 165C. Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.

In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of butter and 2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.

In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing just until incorporated.

Pour batter into the prepared Bundt pan and spread evenly.

Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

While the cake is baking, prepare the butter sauce by combining 3/4 cup sugar, 1/3 cup butter, and 3 tablespoons water in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until fully melted and combined, then stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.

Poke holes all over the warm cake while still in the pan and slowly pour the butter sauce over the cake, letting it soak in.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before turning it out onto a plate. Serve and enjoy!

Pro Tip: For a truly indulgent treat, serve this cake slightly warm with a drizzle of the extra butter sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
