Cheeseburger Pretzel Bombs

Ingredients:

– 1 pound ground beef

– teaspoon salt

– teaspoon black pepper

– teaspoon garlic powder

– teaspoon onion powder

– teaspoon paprika

– 6 slices American cheese, cut into quarters

– 1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough 8 biscuits

– 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

– 6 cups water

– cup baking soda

– 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

– Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Directions:

1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400F 200C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.

3. Prepare the Biscuit Dough: Separate the biscuit dough into 8 individual biscuits. Flatten each biscuit into a 4-inch circle.

4. Assemble the Pretzel Bombs: Place a tablespoon of cooked ground beef and a piece of American cheese in the center of each biscuit round. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching the seams to seal. Roll gently to form a smooth ball.

5. Prepare the Baking Soda Bath: In a large pot, bring 6 cups of water to a boil. Slowly stir in the baking soda. Carefully drop each dough ball into the boiling water for 20-30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

6. Bake the Pretzel Bombs: Brush each pretzel bomb with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

7. Serve: Let the pretzel bombs cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce!
