Creamy Italian Chicken Pasta
Ingredients:
– 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
– 1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix about 0.7 ounces
– 1/4 cup water
– 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
– 1 can 10.5 ounces condensed cream of chicken soup
– 1/2 cup chicken broth
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 2 cups cooked white rice or pasta for serving
– Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Directions:
1. Prep the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker. Sprinkle the Italian salad dressing mix evenly over the chicken. Pour the water into the slow cooker.
2. Make the Cream Sauce: In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, condensed cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
3. Cook in Slow Cooker: Pour the cream sauce mixture over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
4. Shred or Slice the Chicken: Once the chicken is done, you can either shred it with two forks or leave it whole, depending on your preference. Stir the sauce to ensure everything is well combined.
5. Serve: Serve the creamy Italian chicken over cooked white rice or pasta. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and flavor. Enjoy this rich and comforting meal!
