Country Fried Pork Chops with Rich Gravy
Ingredients:
For the Pork Chops:
4 bone-in pork chops
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
teaspoon black pepper
teaspoon paprika
1 egg, beaten
1 cup buttermilk
Vegetable oil for frying
For the Gravy:
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Pork Chops:
In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. Dip each pork chop into the beaten egg, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
Fry the Pork Chops:
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the pork chops for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Once done, remove them from the skillet and keep warm.
Make the Gravy:
In the same skillet, whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add the chicken broth and milk, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve:
Plate the pork chops and generously pour the rich gravy on top. Enjoy this comforting dish!
