Old-Fashioned Meatloaf – OMG DONT LOSE THIS!
This classic meatloaf recipe is a must-have! Its hearty, flavorful, and perfect for a comforting dinner.
Ingredients:
1 lb. 90% lean ground beef
1 cup dried bread crumbs
cup diced yellow onion
cup milk
1 large egg, beaten
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dried parsley leaves
tsp salt
tsp garlic powder
tsp ground black pepper
For the Topping:
cup ketchup
2 tbsp packed light brown sugar
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C.
Prepare the Meat Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, diced onion, milk, beaten egg, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried parsley, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Use your hands to mix everything together until well combined.
Shape the Loaf:
Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and pat it down into an even layer.
Make the Topping:
In a small bowl, mix together cup ketchup, brown sugar, and red wine vinegar until well combined. Pour this sauce over the meatloaf, spreading it into an even layer.
Bake:
Bake the meatloaf uncovered for 55 minutes, or until cooked through.
Rest Before Serving:
Allow the meatloaf to rest for 8-10 minutes before slicing and serving. This helps prevent it from falling apart.
