Cheddar Bay Sausage Balls
Ingredients:
1 pound pork sausage uncooked
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 1/4 cups Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped optional for garnish
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Prepare the Biscuit Mix: In a large bowl, mix the Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix with the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Combine Ingredients: Add the sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and milk to the bowl. Use your hands to mix everything until well combined. The mixture should be soft but firm enough to form into balls.
Shape the Sausage Balls: Scoop out about 1-inch portions of the sausage mixture and roll them into balls. Place the sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 160F 71C.
Garnish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle the sausage balls with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color. Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or snack!
