Peanut Butter Spider Cookies
Ingredients:
cup unsalted butter, softened
cup creamy peanut butter
cup granulated sugar
cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cups all-purpose flour
teaspoon baking soda
teaspoon baking powder
teaspoon salt
24 miniature chocolate peanut butter cups, unwrapped
48 candy eyes
Melted chocolate for spider legs
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375F 190C. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
Add Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing on low until a dough forms.
Shape the Dough: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake the Cookies: Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove the cookies from the oven and immediately press a miniature peanut butter cup into the center of each cookie. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Decorate with Candy Eyes: While the peanut butter cups are still soft, press two candy eyes into the top of each peanut butter cup to resemble spider eyes.
Draw the Spider Legs: Once the cookies are completely cool, use melted chocolate to draw eight spider legs around the peanut butter cup on each cookie.
Serve: Let the chocolate set, and your spooky spider cookies are ready to serve!
