Philly Cheesesteak Pasta
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef or steak strips
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
12 oz pasta penne or rigatoni recommended
1 cup beef broth
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions:
Cook the Pasta:
In a large pot of salted water, cook the pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Sauté the Vegetables:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced bell pepper, onion, and garlic, and sauté until the vegetables are soft and fragrant.
Cook the Meat:
Add the ground beef or steak strips to the skillet with the vegetables. Cook until the meat is fully browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper.
Combine Ingredients for the Sauce:
Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the cream cheese and beef broth. Stir until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
Add Pasta and Cheese:
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, stirring to coat the pasta with the creamy mixture.
Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese on top, then place the skillet under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Serve hot, garnished with extra black pepper or fresh herbs if desired.
