Slow Cooker Turkey Breast
Ingredients:
1 5-7 lb bone-in or boneless turkey breast
2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
1 cup chicken or turkey broth
Directions:
Prepare the Turkey Breast: Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil or melted butter over the entire turkey breast, including under the skin if possible.
Season the Turkey: In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and dried thyme or rosemary. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the turkey breast.
Set Up the Slow Cooker: Pour the chicken or turkey broth into the slow cooker. Place the seasoned turkey breast inside, breast-side up.
Cook the Turkey: Cover and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165F 74C. Cooking time may vary depending on the size of the turkey breast and the slow cooker.
Optional – Broil for Crispy Skin: For a golden, crispy skin, transfer the cooked turkey breast to a baking sheet. Broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes until the skin is crisp and browned.
Serve: Let the turkey rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides for a delicious, hassle-free holiday meal!
