Almond Cherry Cookies Buttery, Nutty, and Delightful!
Ingredients:
Cookies:
3/4 cup slivered almonds, ground
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
8 oz maraschino cherries, halved reserve 1 tsp juice
Red decorating sugar
Frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tbsp cherry juice
1 tsp almond extract
23 tbsp milk
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375F 190C. Line a baking sheet.
Make Dough: Cream butter, sugar, vanilla. Add flour, salt, almonds.
Shape: Wrap dough around cherries. Flatten slightly.
Bake 89 minutes.
Frost: Dip in frosting, add sugar.
